Default alarm vs. key without fob

2009 Chevrolet Equinox LS
3.4L V6

Having a problem opening driver'* door manually with key. When this is done, the alarm chirps slowly, then sounds loudly until vehicle is started. Tried to find a solution in DIC menus but nothing works or I'm missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance !

That'* how they work. It thinks it is being stolen until it sees an authorized key in the ignition. If you disarm with the fob it thinks the door opening is allowed. I don't know of a way to turn this off without a Tech II .

Thanks for the speedy reply.
Would getting an OEM fob or the like be of any worth towards correcting the situation and having it programmed ??? I do realize it’* a 2009 model but maybe it could be done.
$$$$$ ...yes I’m sure. lol

Yeah, totally worth it and not horribly difficult to do. If you're feeling froggy, you can do it yourself. I googled "2009 Equinox add fob" and got many examples of how to add it to your car.
