Alrighty I own a 2003 gmc envoy the issue I'm having is when I push the ac button it either says ac off and if I push it again it shows nothing. As well there'* no cold air. ( I need to. Recharge it) and on that note are those do it your self ac charge kits any good? Thanks in advance folks.

For some reason you leaked out your freon and adding more will most likely leak out as well. It needs to be leak tested and the leaks fixed. The pro shops will also vacuum it down and get rid of the water/condensate and test the other components to assure they are working properly.

It is possibly the pressure is low and that is why it'* not working but it could also be other issues not possible to diagnose without being hands on.

You may want to check your fuses and make sure your AC compressor kicking on.
