Default More info, don't know why it didn't go with post

The truck cameras used to be aligned, it got sideswiped and the mirror had to be replaced, the side painted and that meant the body shop took the bed off and tailgate. Now this is how it looks, if your within 1ft you disappear, and this cameras are not stitching the views together correctly. I sat in a 2025 and it'* perfect, like mine used to be, can anyone give any info on this? The dealer says it'* correct, if that'* correct how'd gm keep from all the lawsuits from hitting things that don't appear on the camera that'* there. Here are a couple of pics, the one on the beige checkers floor was in the dealership, the other a truck for sale. I did see a lot out there that are messed up just wondering why this issue hasn't become a lawsuit for running over something or some poor kid.the dealer confirmed all modules have the correct current software/ firmware.

Take it back to the body shop that did the repairs.

They rely on nearly perfect body and camera geometry.

Have them show you one more just like that if this is correct. Bet they have a hard time finding one.

By warning the driver in the fine print at one time or another that they are responsible for not hitting stuff etc. under all circumstances.

This is always a fun one when they say it. What if all modules have the correct current software/ firmware and the mirrors are unbolted and dangling by their wires on the sides of the truck? Does having the correct software/ firmware make the picture perfect anyways? No. Same goes for body geometry. If the side is smashed or if has just been rolled down a hill, does having the correct software/ firmware make the picture perfect anyways? No. The picture would be all wacky. In your case, something is a little bit off and your picture is a little bit off. No surprise there. Take it back to the body shop and get them to fix it. That should have been part of the overall repair.

thanks for the info. Ya, trying im trying to get them to do the right thing, but the body shop basically is throwing me out on the sidewalk. I barely got them to agree to send to the dealer. When the dealer saw it they agreed it was wrong, then changed to our tech says all is correct and the cameras are supposed to look that way. made a long bulshi*t story up about blind spots, angles and said sorry. I know they are full of shi*t. really looking for a resource to prove it, that they can't argue with. I have taken pics of the trucks i found online and they dismissed them.. from what I have gathered you are correct that the geometry is the issue, if what im being told is true that the VPM (video processing module) has no alignment process then it relies soley on the alignments physically. But proving that is becoming the challenge. I have even tried to loop in GM got a case number and they were hot all over the issue at the start, now I cant reach the rep, or even gat a return call. hopefully someone out there will take some pity and time to send me something. Id love some procedure from GM stating how to re-align after an accident or even the process of re-aligning them physically just because they moved over time.
thanks again, anything is better than nothing

They are not going to be easy to prove anything to because it is in their interest to dismiss whatever proof you present. You could write an encyclopedia about it and be accepted worldwide as the highest authority on such issues, but if the dealership has an easier time saying "no" than fixing it, they'll happily say no.

It appears that the body shop is unable to complete the repair. Report the body shop to the insurance company that paid for the work and get insurance to pay for the rest of the repair at a different body shop.
