My camera and the backup lights are always on while the car is started. If i turn of the car i can see the menu on the screen. I have tried to disconnect the negative on the battery waited about 20 minutes still the same. Has anyone ever experienced this issue before?

I haven't heard of this, but this is a newer vehicle so it'* less likely that this has happened to (many) others.

I suspect this is the gear selection switch that has gone bad.

I have tried checking the fuse box. Disconnected the batteries. The camera doesnt borher me but my reverse lights are when i am driving and the cars behind me gets confused. Can lead to accidents.
