2009 GMC Savanna wiper arm replacment
Hello, I recently had an incident where my passenger side wiper arm stripped out while driving on the highway in the rain. Very scary.
So I have ordered the replacement doorman 43546 and the wiper arm is smooth where it attaches to the transmission. The stock one had ribs that locked into the wiper arm transmission. Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance and any help would be appreciated.

You probably got a run of the mill elcheapo arm. Your best bet is to run down to the dealer and get the proper one.

All wiper arms are smooth where the stud bolts to the arm. During installation, the grooves on the stud will make new grooves on the arm when tightening the nut. Just put the arm on and all should be good to go.

I don't think so.....I recall many are grooved, and you use the grooves as adjustments for proper height/sweep....
Of course, there may be after markets that are smooth and you may have to crank them down hard into the teeth, but for the most part, I seem to remember them grooved....

^^^^^ I remember seeing some come from my delco distributor that didn't the grooves made on them. Not saying they don't, but all the ones Ive replaced didn't have the grooves.
