2003 GMC Sonoma 4.3l V6 Exhaust help
Good Evening, I've been building my 03 Sonoma SLS 4.3L V6 recently, getting it just regularly tuned up, as it doesn't need much, and getting around to the point where the fun mods come into play. Just was shopping around for an exhaust for the truck, nothing too loud, just something with a nice tone to it and a nice subtle rumble, something that just sounds nice at idle too. I was looking at just a regular MagnaFlow muffler, and then I was going to dump it out the side, but I was just wondering if y'all had any other opinions or knowledge for nice-sounding exhausts that won't make me go totally broke for the Chevy 4.3L Vortec V6. Cheers.
Dumping out the side will make it noisier regardless.
I've used Magnaflow before. They're good. The V-6 exhaust note takes getting used to, and some never get used to it. Are you sure you want to hear it?

I'm willing to try it out, of course; I'll be clamping it in first just to see how it sounds, but aside from that, I don't mind a little bit of noise, as long as it sounds good and not like a fart cannon. And by dumping it out the side, I don't mean by the cab, possibly around before the rear tire or after it out the side of the bed. Almost how it is stock.
There is no such thing as a good sounding exhaust on a V6. They all sound raspy or ricey. Never the V8 sound you want.
What exhaust sounds good to one person, may not sound good to you.
Do what I did. Swap out the V6 for a V8.
