Default '04 GMC Sierra 1500 Fuel leak

Hey folks,

Lurker here, and have an issue with my boss' truck.

Dropped the fuel tank down on Saturday because he was leaking fuel badly.

Turns out the fuel pump sending unit cover and all that jazz was COMPLETELY RUSTED!!!

SO I told him he needs to order the fuel return and feed line (that nylon flex stuff), and also there'* an evap line that kinda follows the outside of the tank to the back and has a solenoid of some sort hooked up, with a small vacuum line attached.

The problem is I cannot for the life of me locate either that solenoid, or that hose assembly???

I can't even recall if this is what resembles his tank the most, or not. I have pictures on my cellphone and can upload when I get home, but I only took pictures of the fuel pump area.

Any advice on hose assemblies and where to find them would be greatly appreciated!

With formed fuel lines your headed to the dealer or the salvage yard. Sounds like your in a high salt area so the dealer is most likely your best bet.

Thanks for the response. I recommended he see the dealer. We'll see if they have what he needs.

you can run new plastic the same as metal, they have adapters and fitting and lines at the parts store. carquest is good if you have one around- dealer will probably have exactly what was there but you are going to pay dealer price which is up to two arms and two legs, and your first born
