Default 03 GMC Yukon leaking transfer case

Took my truck to the shop to get the transfer case leak looked at, and i was told the case its got a hole on it due to the chain rubbing on it. but any way what are my options(if any) to solving this issue with out having to replace the transfer case?

you have to replace it now that its worn through. but there is a fix ive seen floating around how to stop it from wearing through the replacement.

The last place I worked was a dealer so it was usually replace the whole transfer case. But if it were mine it would be getting the JB weld trick if I didn't want to do option one! Have seen it one before and hold up.
