I keep ideas quiet so people don't jump into them until I have a chance to prove they work.

Turning it over with no plugs or injectors sounds nice and quiet. No clanking or odd noises. Unfortunately, I can't use the compression tester I borrowed from FIE. The threads aren't long enough to get down in the pocket.

Off to find one that will work........

You have a very intriguing problem Bill.

What could have bent that plug closed like that?

Only time I have seen that is when I accidently dropped a plug, then almost installed it before looking to see it had bent closed like that. :roll:

Maybe your flux capacitor created a reverse charge and the resulting magnetic impulse drew the electode closed. :lol:

Compression on the #3 and #5 cylinders is 160-165.

Compression on that suspect #1 cylinder is 120psi.

I think that front cylinder head is going to have to come off the car.

It took Boosty 3 hours to get his off. It should take you half that time. ;)

Sounds to me like you chipped a piston Mr.
The chunk of pistonn smashed the plug ground right down on the electrode and then you shot it out the exhaust and off she goes.
you probabely slightly bant the valve becaue the exhaust caught it once or twice on the way out. Been there done that.

120 psi is good compresion for around town, its at the track that you won't like it.
I believe the manual says my compresion is god anywhere over 100psi.

That's been my only plausible theory also. It had to be something small, and something other than steel. I'm going to try to get my hands on a borescope and get in there for a look.

I've got alot of other work to do this off-season, and it's about time I got started. In the meantime, I'll start putting funds aside for a new bottom end.

thats strange that it bent the ground electrode like that, and didn't even break the ceramic.
