I just took more photos. The rails are bent to the right in front of the shock towers. The engine cradle, etc is straight and undamaged. Has anyone tried to straighten frame rails?

I can get a complete nose from a salvage yard for $300-$500. That'* not bad.

160,000. New tranny at 130,000. ALWAYS had Mobil 1 in it ,ALWAYS had maintenence done. EVERYTHING works in it. Once insurance finishes up, I'm going to remove the nose and post more pics. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the input thus far! Merry Christmas to all.

May just be me, but I'd say scrap it. I don't like the way the frame was bent like that, especially on the side where the torque axis mount is. As Peter said, it'* probably going to be pretty costly to get the frame properly aligned to be normal again.

OK, thanks. Police called, the accident IS her fault, but she is uninsured. I'm going to sue for vehicle damages, then pull the nose off after I get it appraised for value.

Don't forget to add time, effort, and court costs of suing her into the mix.

And you may want to see about removing some of the panels before or during the examination/appraisal if you plan on doing your own work. When I got hit by a deer, I didn't pull off the molding on the driver'* door cause I figured it was just loose. After everything was done and I had the check in hand, I started working on it, and found a pretty good dent and some bends in the metal that were hidden.

I would check with the insurance/appraiser on that if they don't mind.

Doesn't your uninsured motorist cover kick in in this instance? Its mandatory coverage in CT. Don't know about your state.

Uninsured motorist only covers injury, not vehicles. I looked more into her, she doesn't have the proverbial pot to pi$$in, nor the window to throw it out of. Merry Christmas, Bonneville wrecker. NOt worth it. I AM going to try to assess the damage to see what I can do. In the meantime, I'm driving a Lumina....Ughhh.....
