I agree on not needing a larger cat.

The stock size was 2.25 or 2.5, correct? No need to go larger pipe.

Are you sure its really chewing tobacco? The splat pattern, if you will, looks to come from the center outwards which indicates it was dropped from above. Could have been a bird who ate a Mcdumpster Sandwhich and got the ***** really bad.

as mentioned a 3" cat will not fix the problem but depending on how extreme you go with the exhaust, you will need a 3" setup, we are talking at least $2000 in engine mods I'd think to outflow what you have.
