That is terrible! Your insurance will probably total it but you could keep the salvage and fix it yourself like we did when my son, 94SSEgold, smacked a pole. It worked out well and it didn't cost anywhere near what the insurance estimated.

I am so fearful of hitting a deer! I've heard stories where they come through the windshield and are up in your lap.....that would be aweful!!

Get the silly little deer whistles...they can be hidden lower on the car and work very well, once I put them on I never saw another deer. Before I put them on I saw a ton and nearly clipped a couple.

yeah it is more than just a new fender, hood, and headlights to get that fixed.

The frame members behind the headlights are a PAIN to get bent back and may require new members welded or bolted on.

Wow! That damage is exactly like what happened on my 94 SSEi when I hit a deer at 60mph! Glad to see you weren't hurt! My car however also had the air bag deploy while I was doin 60 mph! What a joy that was.....mixture of gas and taclom powder in your face. I got a bit of a burn on the side of my arms from the steering wheel bag as I held on for deer life (no pun intended)! Overall bill for my car broke down like this.....
New hood $500, fender, grill, headlight about $700, windshield (hud) $800, used dash $1500, replace ALL air bag sensors $750, 2 new bags $500, and labour plus tax put the final bill at $9500 (Canadian). The car still drives great and nothing was upset by the collision. Having the plastic front fender actually saved on a lot more possible damage. Oh and the deer couldn't be repaired unfortunately nor could I mount it'* head up on the wall of my Bonnie'* garage!

You have no idea how glad I was that the airbag did not deploy. I was coming around a bend when I hit the deer, and I would have probably ended up either against a tree or in someones front yard. The car is still in limbo (my mechanic is extremely busy right now), so hopefully tomorrow I'll have a better idea.

Not so hasty guys, Puddy, can you have a go and pull that fender off?
It'* gotta go anyway, and it'll give you a look at whether that inner fender is damaged.
I can see that the top of the fender-line looks displaced, but I can't tell whether that is because of inner fender damage. The way our cars are, that bulge in the fendr may not indicate frame damage, it could just be that the plastic fender has sheered along the screws holiding it on.

If you go the route of having the work done yourself, I have a grey hood in good shape that can be painted, and a passenger headlight. I don't know whether our fenders or grilles are compatible, but I have those too. I also have that frame that goes in front of the radiator, with the airbag sensr and all, and the headlight-assembly mount frame and other parts you'll need. Even with gas for the drive here I could save you serious money over what the shop will want for parts. PM me if you are interested.

EDIT: It looks like maybe you do have some minor frame damage, right at the front of the inner fender, where it projects ahead of the core support. That won't be too hard to straighten out.
It'* actually a good thing that he did so much damage to the hood and fender. Deer have a bad habit of going straight up the hood and throught the windshield. When your hood hit him and crumpled, it probably saved your life!

Thanks to the air bag deployment that alone cost $3500! Otherwise cost of repairs would have been half! Sad part was I didn't even need the protection as the deer bounced off the car into the guardrail!
