Alright guys I have a little problem here guys, and Im looking for some advice.
Tires I have now = not good for snow and ice. They have some tread left, and would be fine for summer, but I dont feel that they should be used in the winter.
Option A: Find some cheap 16" wheels and put snow tires on them.
Advantage: Kill two birds with one stone (keep my swoops looking nice & get winter- worthy tires)
Disadvantage: cheapest wheels I could find at a junkyard are steels for $50 a pop, plus I'd have to buy wheel covers yets.
Option B: Put A good set of All-Seasons on my current rims
Advantage: Wouldnt have to buy a second set of wheels.
Disadvantage: My chrome will suffer.
What do you guys think? I was hoping to spend like $500 all said and done, but Im seeing that I dont think thats possible, unless I can find a killer deal on some wheels.

find some bonneville rims from your local junkyard...in most junkyards you are looking at 100 bucks for a set of 4 without tires.
steel wheels work too.
go 16", then get some snow tires...but it depends how much it snows to see if its worth it.

The problem is I have checked the yards, and they all are giving me ridiculous prices, I went to one today and was quoted $200 for a set of steel wheels, another place had some chevy lumina wheels for $85 each. I was extremely shocked when they told me the price.

Can I shamelessly plug my own wheel sale?

The one with the small tire is actually my 16" crosslace with a 200 50 17 Hayabusa tire that I was just messing around with. I'm in IN, and freight shipping may not be too much. You don't get the Hayabusa tire, but 3 of 4 regular tires, worn ones, are included. Would you suppose that these are worth more to you than are the Lumina wheels?

Well they would be worth more to me than the lumina wheels, but I found a local guy that was selling a set of 16" american racing rims for $150, and I talked him down to 125 so now i just need to get some rubbers on them. Thanks anyway!

We had a little bit of snow before this weekend, and they sucked big time, thats what made me really get looking for some wheels. now we have like a foot of snow, so hopefully I will get some tires tomorrow or wednesday. Even with traction control I have a hard time keeping traction due to the combination of lots of power and bad tires!
i have trouble even with good tires.
and i turn the traction control off when its really snowy. theres no way it will prevent your wheels from spinning, its just annoying. you have to spin them a bit just to get moving!
