I was hoping that someone could give me some pointers regarding winter storage (Nov-Feb) of a 2000+ series. Besides diconnecting the battery, what else should one do? How about tips on bringing it out of storage?

make sure the car is clean when you store it, and get a good car cover to keep the dust off of it

its best to raise the car onto jack stands to prevent flat spots from developing on the tires.. also start and run the car every couple weeks to keep oil up in the top end.. Other than that, just change the oil when you take it out of storage (age will break down your oil pretty bad)

I talked to a paint guy and he said dust isn't hard on your car, the water trapped by a cover is. He recommended no cover.

Another thing to do is get some of those chemical based moisture absorbers. Throw them in there so you don't get any musty odor when you pull it out of storage.

Also, does anyone know the procautions to take before unhooking your battery? Don't you need to know the security code for the stereo or anything like that?

If its' going to be in storage somewhere that you have electricity, it may be better to put a battery-tender on it rather than unhook the battery.

Why are you storring ur SSEi?

Also, Run it every 3-4 weeks, use the AC so the oil lubricates the system in the R134a, get it up to operating temp and kill 'r.

I would also make sure it is fresh oil BEFORE storing it. Your oil starts to produce acid once it starts to get used from running it, so fresh oil before AND after storage.

Salt is killer! I don't drive mine in the winter either.
