Default Why do attract all the ******?

I think it'* my "SSEEEYAA" plates. These cops have beef with me or something.

I was going the speed limit exactly. A cop was behind me for 1/2 mile. The E. Syracuse cops are few and they have nothing to do at 11 at night...it'* fact. Nothing happens here.

Anyway he pulled me over because I have red lights over my license plate, and I have a cover on it. The only thing is, the cover came with the frame, and it is CLEAR! There'* nothing wrong with a clear cover! It keeps the plate clean anyway, and protects from ppl stealing it. I told him it was clear and he said "it doesn't matter, you can't have a cover on it"

He gave me a ticket for the red lights becasue he was bored, and because they say SSEEEYAA I'm sure. He didn't give me a ticket for the cover because he said I plead ignorant.

Well I'm not ignorant because it'* not illegal here. Especially clear. I looked it up. You can't even see it until you're next to it. I've had it on for 2 years and my friend didn't even know I had a cover. The cop didn't ticket me for that becuase he knows he can't.

Oh well, I'll see if I can get out of this stupid a$$ ticket. I was told it was legal. And my plate is still visible from 50 feet away. Damn picky a$$ donut eaters.

Kinda like I was pulled over for crossing the center line and exhibiting "drunken behavior" mind you its a curvy country road at 1 o'clock in the morning. I crossed twice....

I didn't get a ticket, *** hole cop. He'* the same one that pulls over my friend all the time for no reason.

Anyone that can help me out on having red AND white lights over my plate? I was thinking I could have a switch so I can turn on the white ones when I see a cop? And turn the red ones on at other times. I don't want to have just white lights.

I know it'* minor, but they look better red AND they're not noticeably red with headlights on them at all. So the cop was being an a$$.

Jim, have you had problems with yours??

Not a peep. The law here states that no coloured lamps are permitted at the front of a vehicle due to adverse driving safety issues.

No one cares about the backs. Keep the colored LED'* or lights off the front and its fine, I cannot see why the back is an issue. Most of time at night they appear white becuase the headlamps of the car in front of you kill the effect.

I'm stumped as to what the problem is

EXACTLY!!! Headlights wash out the red glow, and you can just barely see dim red dots. That'* it. I tell you these cops are ****** here. Everyone thinks I hate cops for no reason, but they don't know what I've had to deal with.

I have had cops right behind me before and they haven't pulled me over for it.

Well I'm stubborn and I don't want white lights there. I'll just risk it and won't drive through the village again. I rarely do anyway. I haven't had a problem from city cops for them. But if the fine is more than $40 I'll find a way to make a swich between red and white.

Thats bollocks, the Ministry of Transportation here in Ontario encourgages us to purchase for 16 bux, these blue tinted license plate protectors. These ones in particular still work on the 407 ETR (electronic toll route). But it makes sense, the province saves money on having to get plates manufactured. If all motorists had these covers, then our plates would last a lot longer.

So, I cannot see why plate covers are illegal

You can also see that the front of my car doesnt have a plate... does only printing 1 plate save the goverment lots?

I was told they were iligal here because if the inside of the plastic gets dirty not even the depth of the numbers/letters on the plate can be id'd by a photo radar van and we have a good deal of those in the provience.
Even if you get a thin layer of mud on a plate they can use there secret powers to make out the depth of the numbers/letters. Although if its a snowy day a cop wont pull you over have have you clean off your bumper where the snow is pilling up and covering your plate..

I noticed that Jim. I saw A LOT of blue tinted covers up there. If anything were illegal here, it would be a tinted cover, or smoked cover. Maybe cops here would say that a tinted cover would cause the plate to be less visible. I don't think it would too much, especially at night with lights on. I've seen dark smoked covers here which are worse than a CLEAR one.

But a clear cover should not be illegal anywhere. I'm surprised he tried to pull that one on me. No where in the "Equipment" Act or other sections of the V&T laws does it say anything about a plate cover. And a clear one that is not visible being illegal is rediculous IMO.

I think if someone wants to keep their plate clean and better protected then let them. This cop wasn't out of town, but he WAS out of his mind if he thought he was going to ticket me for that.
