Well, remember when 87 hit $2.07 a gallon and **** like that, then diesel was still cheap....I think they're left overs from when a shitton of people traded in their gas cars for the Golfs and Jettas that had the diesel'* in them that get 40 some MPG driving like a nutty escaped convict.

They were probably disappointed in the performance. I was. I think I'd buy a 2003 SSEi instead.

For just over $30 large you can get into something like a Jag X-type, Acuras, Subbie Legacy GT, all much better performers that really lick it to the Bonneville in every way.
