I soldered into the socket. If you twist slightly..the existing bulb leads break and it pops right out.

you can see on my socket, it'* fried brittle. If I was going to solder it was just as easy to solder the lamp right to the board.

I did and thought that was odd. I've seen probably 10 of these and never noticed one fried. Was that one of the replacements?

That would make it etiher a Bonne, GP or GA. Interesting. nice to see the bulb lasted such a short time :o

However, is there a specific wire to use for soldering? I have no idea for that kind of thing.

yes, solder. if you have it apart, they may solder it for you.

I just fixed my radio. I soldered it right to the circuit board like Travis did. My only disappointment is that it'* not as bright as it used to be in the daylight. But now I have my clock back so I'm happy
