There'* a tan 40th a few doors down from me with big 20" bling rims. I think it'* an SSEi. The wheels are kind of eecch, but the rest of the car is immaculate. I dropped a card on it, but haven't had a chance to talk to him yet.

The biggest recommended is 18'*. Bigger wheels mess with performance,ride and braking

You don't need low-pros, I'm using 235/50-18s on mine, but a 40 profile is the right size for stock outer diameter. I lost about 0.40 in the quarter from that, dammit!
Keep in mind that the ride is going to be a bit harsher than normal with a wheel larger than 17", especially on larger bumps.
