How much overlap is there with the edges of the vents on the hood (how much do they overlap the edges of the holes cut into it)? Isn't it possible to do these without repainting the whole hood? Don't get me wrong, if I do this it won't be for a long time. And I AM planning on getting the car repainted within a year. I hope it works out that way.

The ONLY reason I went for it when I did is because the factory clear on my hood was delaminating. I needed to repaint anyway (trust me, solid black is much better looking than what this thing was 6 months ago, it was ugly).
We did NOT repaint dj'* entire hood. There was no need.
