Yeah, I wasn't sure if you did that already. I'd be interested in the results. I can't see how it wouldn't help a lot!

I can picture it in my head now

How much overlap is there with the edges of the vents on the hood (how much do they overlap the edges of the holes cut into it)? Isn't it possible to do these without repainting the whole hood? Don't get me wrong, if I do this it won't be for a long time. And I AM planning on getting the car repainted within a year. I hope it works out that way.

The overlap is built in to the vents. It'* about 1/4", so you cut 1/4" smaller than the outside visible dimensions. It'* a no-brainer when you see how the vents are made, and how they attach. (this is for the GTA vents I used on mine and driverjohn'*)

The ONLY reason I went for it when I did is because the factory clear on my hood was delaminating. I needed to repaint anyway (trust me, solid black is much better looking than what this thing was 6 months ago, it was ugly).

We did NOT repaint dj'* entire hood. There was no need.

Pic of how we masked John'* hood to repaint ONLY the cut. The paint edge is hidden under the lip of the vents:

okay, question now - then what is the point of RAM AIR? Just to sell Firebirds? what about cowl induction?

Think of Ram Air as a factory intake kit. The air intake was re-worked to help get colder air, and it was also available on GA.

Cowl induction.... well, that is for better cooling by letting more air into the engine bay, if you are talking about the firebird...
