well every 6 months or 3 K miles... but i wouldn't let dirty oil sit in my car over a long winter so i say change it like 50-100 miles before you park it. then drive it for a few hundred miles in the spring then change it again.

thats what im going to do.

I've heard you should drain the oil before a long slumber and then fill it up when you want to take it out

I'm one of the extremists..and brutal to my seasonal vehicles..

I drive it in the shed...park it and think about how I should change the oil when it comes out.

Ditto..to a certain extent.

I change the oil in our Firehawk when it comes out of storage in Juneish. Then, we drive it ~200 miles throughout the summer and put it back in storage in September. Repeat the cycle the following year. Hasn't caused an issue yet.
