chrome wheels should make it through winter if you keep them clean. I think low pros would be the bigger thing to worry about (handling issues)

i have a friend with an avalanche on 24s who runs em year round.

You wouldn't want to slide into a curb on ice and bend a rim now would you? You've only got 16" rims so you really shouldn't be too worried. What kinda rubber is on each set of shoes?
