Default When getting a used 3800...

how do you tell the difference between an n/a motor and a supercharged motor(visually, and without the */c obviously)?

If the LIM has a big square cut out, and a circular cut out, it'* */C'd.

If it has 6 holes going into it.....then it'* N/A'd if I remember correctly.

If you could just get the 8th of the VIN too off the car, then you can tell that way

K= N/A'd
1= */C'd.

Ditto.

If the LIM isn't on the block, you can check the heads for fuel injector bosses. SC motors have injectors that go directly into the heads, so you'll see injector ports in the heads. NA motors have injectors that seat into the LIM, so if the LIM is gone and you don't see injector bosses in the heads, you know it'* an NA block.

Additionally, if all you need is the bare block, they're exactly the same between NA and SC (at least with Series 2 stuff).

If your looking at S2 engines and the LIM is gone, look for injector bosses in the heads. If there there then it'* a L67 if not L36.
