My 1992 Bonneville SE was rear-ended with 300,000 miles on the original motor and trans (still ran extremely strong).
My 1994 Bonneville SLE has 206,000 miles and it'* only problems are electrical -the motor and trans are sound (need a sensor as trans only goes into OD lockup with the cruise control on).

My friend has a 1995 Bonneville SLE Series II L36. The motor and trans were replaced back in 1998 when the car itself had 50,000 miles (we don't know if the new motor and trans were NEW or junkyard equipment). Today he has over 220,000 miles on the car, and 170,000 on the motor and trans and it runs pretty dang good for as ill-cared-for as it is (I'd bet he'* only changed the oil no more than 7-8 times since he got it with 130,000 miles on the car -I personally have changed his oil 3 times and every time when I pulled the drain plug only about 1 quart has drained out ).
GEEZ now THATS tough! Does he just never raise the hood?
Hood? what a hood? Yeah, he deserves to have the motor and trans both blow up on him.
The care he puts into his drivetrain is just the start of it. When he gets pissed off he takes it out on his car. There are no less than 40-50 dents in the doors, the quarter panels, the rood, the hood, and the trunk from punching and kicking it. I just wish he would have learned when there was another Bonneville parked next to his when he went on a tyrade and opened a can of whoop-*** on the wrong car. The owner saw it happening and called the cops. Turns out the owner worked with him, and decided not to press charges. I'm the one who got stuck finding new doors and a hood.

Oh GEEZ ROFL.....if he wants his ride to be a punching bag...you might suggest a early 90'* Taurus and let someone caring adopt his Bonney LOL.
Going postal on the wrong car...thats too much ROFL

Lets see if I get this post where it should be...

1992 Bonneville, 1 owner, 350k miles. My goal it to get to 450-500k miles.

Doesnt use oil, gets about 24-28mpg everywhere, has been hit and totaled SUVs (gotta love having the ball hitch on the back)

Replaced just about every external moving part on the engine due to wear (lifetime warrenty parts rule)

Now if I can only find a junkyard seat to replace the one in my car that has conformed to my every expanding butt....

I have 120,xxx and a GM rebuilt tranny. Runs smooth as silk. I should be in business for a long time to come. My car would rust to death before the engine died. But I'm fixing the rust spot this summer My car will look brand new again. I don't need new paint, but I will have practically a whole new paint job when I'm done with it (partly due to my brother backing into my car with a van last year).
