Here is a question for you. If someone puts in an aftermarket chip into thier car and something happens to the engine because of it, does anyone cover the repairs?

Here is an example: This guy I work with put in a new chip in his new Audi. I am not sure what happened but he now needs $6000 in work done to it because of the chip. Is there any legal documentatin that references situations like this? Something that would say that either the cars warentee will need to cover this or that the chip manufacturer is responsible?

I am sure this has happened to many other people in the past and I am curious as to how it all gets worked out.
