Why 10w40? That'll cause more wear being thicker when cold.

I try to run Mobil Gas now, or Kwik Trip gas, and Mobil 1 oil (time to change too).

Because it doesn't get cold here. We don't have to wear sweaters/jackets until Feb/Mar and only for a couple of weeks at that. Besides that my car runs better with 10w40.

i'm not sure there is anything wrong w/ shell. my oldest bro owns a fairly new Jag, and that'* all he puts in it. for me mobil is close to my house. up a bit further is BP i'd use that if Mobil was full and i was in a hurry. i've used Shell on trips and such w/o any complaints,..but there are those here that have better knowledge of gasoline than me.

btw,..sunoco used to contain methynol,..not sure it still does,..but i always heard FI didn't like methynol?

I try to stick with Amoco/BP. I just use 87 octane as my cars aren't supercharged. Howver, if it'* on a Tuesday, midgrade is the same price as regular so I'll fill 'em up with midgrade! As for why I don't use Shell....it'* much more expensive in my area than Amoco/BP. Nothing against them.

Oil. I only use Castrol GTX 10w-30. Have used it in all my cars for a long time and have had great results. I like to change it every 2,500 miles so that when it drains out it looks just as clean as the fresh stuff I'm putting in!
