Default Helm shipping delays for anyone else?

I ordered a 90 an 97 service manual from helm on April 20. They're shipping terms say 7-10 days for delivery. I was a bit ticked off when they weren't waiting for me upon my return from vacation. I called them on May 5 and the gal said that if they didn't show up the following day to give her a call back but I didn't have a chance.

Anyone else experiencing delays recently in receiving manuals?

I got mine quick, but it was early in their sale, and a 93.

I called today and they haven't even shipped the damn things yet. I expect to get a call back tomorrow as to why. That'* when I'm going to ask for free overnight shipping or they will feel my squirrely wrath!

I finally spoke to a person at Helm that is a do'er. Apparently, my order was never shipped cause it is suspected to be lost in the warehouse. Why they didn't just box up another set and ship I'll never know. It took 4 phone calls until this was done.

I found an alternative source for service manuals. Bishko Auto Books 800-544-3312. The manuals are used but are the same ones purchased through Helm. To give an idea of cost, the 97 manual from Helm is $135 but only $89 from Bishko. For those like me that don't want to deal with Ebay, this might be a nice alternative.

Do you now have to wait for your shipment to be lost by this new company or are you positive somewhere you've got books on the way?

Helm finally understood my request: grab some more manuals, put them in a box and ship them to me. I was able to get them to do next day air shipping too; I should have them Monday. Try to do the math there: next day = 4 days

The other company was the last resort cause I bought the 90 manual for $30 during the special.

A buddy works for UPS (hehe...got a lot of buddies) and he laughs when people pay next day air charges on a Friday or Saturday because you get it Monday. Seems odd you wouldn't have them tomorrow. Musta made it 2nd day air...lol

Personally I hope I'm not around when you get home on Monday and find that sticky note on the door that you weren't home and signature is required.

Man, you are Mr Fullofpositivethoughts, aren't you? Remember, I have the best job in the whole wide world and will probably be home to receive it. Heck, even when I am home, the UPS driver never makes me sign for packages.
