Default What 1993 year cars were faster

1/4mile than a 93 SSEi. refering to 4 door cars only

Just curious.

so far I can think of:

BMW 540i
BMW 740i
Mercedes-Benz 500E
Mercedes 600SEL

any other 4 door cars faster in the 1/4 than the SSEi that you can think of for 1993?

Well if you look up the specs, the Q45 had 268HP and 292lbft of torque, compared to only 205/260 for the SSEI, so the Q45 should be faster.

The Q45'* are actually pretty sluggish for the power they made. I rode in one quite a while back and it didn't feel as fast as my uncle'* 93 SSEi.

Weight? Gear ratio? Drivetrain loss?

You can't simply judge a car'* quickness by factory ratings of crank horsepower and torque. The numbers are meaningless.

I just looked up the weight for a Q45. A pretty hefty 4100lbs. And I bet the gear ratio is ***** whipped because it is strictly a luxury car.

Infiniti Q45 4.1
MAXIMUM SPEED: 144mph (electronically limited)
0-60: 7.2 seconds
AVERAGE FUEL ECONOMY: 23mpg
That sounds slower than my SSEi
Oh, and I just added MPG just for fun

True, I didn't look at the weight comparison. Rear gear ratio on the Q45 is 3.54. I couldn't find any real world numbers on either car in stock form, but one list I found said a quarter mile time of 16.1 for a '92 SSEI and 15.6 for the '93 Q45. I also found a couple places that mentioned 0-60 times of mid sixes on the Q45. So take that for what it'* worth.
