It could be an engine swap. Though it would be tough, I've read about a couple before, so it shouldn't be too rare to find one. It may have been a very lowly optioned 96-99 SLE or 92-99 SSE. Whatever it may be (or may have been), I think it's awesome.

could have been badged and cladded by a previous owner ;)
Would be cool if you could grab a vin for confirmation |
I've actually come across a 96 Ei with the EXACT same options as you describe, except it did have one power seat. It also had the chrome T-stars too, oddly enough :?

There are some SSEi's out there that are stripped down to the bottom of the barrel toys...
If you find a car like that its usually an ordered car as the SSE and SSEi 1SA and 1SB option packages were pretty well loaded as they were.... Only way to not have some of the options was through Option deletes.. Lets have a gander at Sandrocks 1994 SSE... It has Leather AL6 seats.... Steering Wheel controls ELC Gold Crosslace Wheels Pwr Antenna What it doesn't have No Hud No Moon Roof No ECC No Keyless No AL7's No Audio System with the Gain amp.. He has a very strange SSE Bonneville.... Its almost like an SLE with the SSE Body Kit and add the Compass and Driver Information... LOL... Yet it handles like its on Rails  His 1993 SSEi has every option....LMAO __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Probably more than every option!
Having an SSEi like the one you found in the junkyard is probably good for weight savings. It would be interesting when tuned up and on the track. Quite the sleeper except for the badges and bumpers. |
