Default water in trunk?? check this out

OK, for all you '92 - '95 guys, and maybe '96 - '99 as well.

If you are getting water in your trunk and can't figure out where it is comming from, I have found two spots where it gets in from

These holes have been found in my '93 SSEi, Darrel'* '95 SSEi, and redwingsfan34'* '92 SE.

Sorry no pics yet, but you will get the idea, and I will probably post up pics soon

remove the carpeting that covers your taillights.

Look closely down in the corner below the nuts holding the lights in, you will probably see a 1/4 inch hole there that is just open to the environment that lets water in.

The hole might be a little hard to see at first, you have to get your head inside the trunk almost on the floor and look back towards the lights to see it.

Do you have these holes? it looks like they came from the factory on all of the cars I have seen so far.. paint all around them.

yep. mine has them. I filled them in over a year ago. Still have the leak in my trunk. One of mine had a plastic clip in it also.

Passenger side rusted apart and broke off from the taillight. I just used some black adhesive/sealant and no more leaks. The drivers side rear a few weeks later fell right off after closing the trunk. Repaired that and 2 years later still no water leaks. Also check the antenna area. I had a small leak there as well.
