Default Visual of what a MAF screen does

I finally have a good example of what a MAF screen does. While it dosen't do much when the air flow is straight to begin with (everything I've seen from intake testing) it most definitely helps here where it clearly straightens out the swirling air.

I love it. Finally visual proof that the screen is there for a reason. How many times has this come up bill?

Ya it most definitely works, and does very little to impede flow, so I say its a keeper. Take it out to port behind it and then put it back in.

Put the IAT in it and see what happens.

Awesome Trent. So it smooths out the air flow and catches anything the intake sucks up if your filter falls off. I'd say it'* a keeper.

It'* come up several times, remove the screen and you have more air flow, there for more power. however, it disrupts laminar air flow over the MAF wire which gives unreliable information to the PCM. Leave the MAF screen in place.

I have done temperature analysis on an intake with the screen in and out, and since the screen dosen't have much of an impact on velocity of pressure build up there isn't much if any temperature difference.

No, I meant do air flow/MAF test like you just did with the IAT installed.
