My buddy was telling me about Halogen Infrared bulbs, supposed to be brighter than Silverstars. I looked into them a bit and they seem more expensive than the Silverstars, I didnt see anything about bulb life either.
If you want to spend some cash and "take one for the team", check them out.

I did a bunch of reseach, and the HIR(halogen infared) bilbs seem like a good alternative, i havent seen any feedback on reliability yet, but this is one store i found that sold them. This is the largest manufacturer of the HIR bulbs for non-oem applications, under the PolarG name.

OK who did the headlight mod ? if you did , do you like it (the light output), and did you do a test to see if it blinds oncoming cars? if it does not blind oncoming cars it looks like a good safe mod that can help you (me) see better at night.

noone on this forum has done an HID conversoin in a 2000+ bonneville, if you are considering doin it, you have to keep in mind that the headlamp assemblys are mdesigned for optimal HOLOGEN output NOT HID. Putting HID lighint in a hologen designed fixture generally produces a a daylight like brightness for the driver of the vehicle, but also tends to blind other drivers
