Default update

Sor ry for the long absense but I've been without driving my bonnie for a month now and that on top of the month I waited for the title I've only drove this car 1 out of the 3 month'* I've owned it.

Anyways its at the GM dealer and hopefully they fix it right. I say that because its under the extended warrantee plan and who knows what they might do to get out of honoring that. They're fixing that bad window regulator under warrantee too so thats cool.

just thought I'd put up an update.

FYI about the extended warranty: There is no reason to think that they will try to "get out of" covering things under the warranty. To the contrary, there is every reason to believe they will find plenty of things to cover under that warranty.

You buy the warranty from General Motors. Sure, the car dealer might have sold it to you, but they did it as an agent of General Motors.

When something goes wrong with your car, and you take it to the dealer under the extended warranty for them to fix, they fix it, and submit the warranty claims to General Motors. General Motors then **PAYS THE DEALER** for the labor and the cost of the parts.

The point is, your dealership makes money off the warranty. It is to their financial advantage to make SURE things get covered by that warranty. In short, your extended warranty is a payday for your dealer, so long as they find things wrong with your car, to repair under the warranty.

I've long sworn that my dealer "found" things wrong with my car that weren't really broken, but I have no solid proof, just a long list of things that they found "leaking" when I didn't have any leaks on my garage floor.

So anyway, I think you have nothing to worry about.

I had the extended warranty and right before it went away, I took it to the dealer. I told them that something is not right with the supercharger, and they replaced it, no questions asked. They also replaced the broken console cup holder..I had zero deductable. I would do it again if I buy another bonnie. When I took it in for an oil leak, I got it back with no leak and a $600.00 bill I did not have to pay....

Yeah, in fact, they always really liked it if I told them something like "I've got some leak spots on the garage floor, and I don't know where they're coming from, so check EVERYTHING." -because they told me that under the terms of the warranty, they're only really supposed to fix things that you come in and complain about. So if you came in and said "I have an oil leak" (and you really did have an oil leak) -then they'll fix that for you under the warranty. But if the transmission side pan is leaking too, they aren't supposed to be allowed to tell you about it. -But if you tell them to check everything, that gives them free license to find any and all leaks you may (or may not) have.

Just so you're informed on the intricate "rules" on how the warranty works. So one theory is that it might be better to make lots of complaints and think up all possible causes for any problem you might have, to get it all checked out properly.
