Default transmission shudder

I have a problem with my transmission in my 99 SLE, that is concerning me. If you hit the throttle hard from a dead stop or if you have the car loaded full of people and are taking off on a steep uphill grade the transmission will hammer a few times through the drive line, also when cruising down the highway, when the converter is locking and unlocking, its not very smooth, you can feel a bit of a shutter. I have serviced the tranny recently and the previous owner had a tranny flush about a year ago. Hopefully these issues can be resolved without a major overhaul. Any suggestions?

When you serviced it did you drop the pan and change the filter? How did things look? Much build up on the magnet? Any bits in the pan? Also have the computer scanned. There are some transmission codes that wont set off a light, but will still set a code.

Well there were'nt ant bits or chunks but a heavy gray film all through it and on the magnet. And like a dufuss, I left the magnet out, but I did change the filter. Is there a way I can get the codes from the computer? or do I need to get an OBD-II scanner. Btw, looks like your car is the same color as mine, very sweet ride. I cant image having a huffer on my engine as this car is so fast anyway.

Sounds like you have a bad pressure control solenoid. If you scan the computer, see if you have a
P1811.

I actually had the computer scanned last week, at Auto Zone, because of a check engine light and the only thing that came up was the front O2 sensor. I didn't change the sensor but later that day the light went out. Point being that they didn't mention any other codes. Should I buy my own scanner (if so which one?) or should they be able to retreive it?. Also can I retreive the code myself by probing certain pins on the ALDL connector?
