Transmission Oil Cooler Fires - Update
Is there an RPO code for the tranny cooler? So it would be easier to know who has one? I assumed Joe would have had one too. I haven't ever really checked for where mine is but I just assumed it was there.

wilwren and Don, I found an interesting link the other day regarding recalls and TSB'*. It looks like you have to be come a member but I clicked on the TSB tab pulled up 1992 Bonneville SE and a whole page of tsb'* was displayed. Kind of interesting.

Well, Pontiac remains firm that my vehicle is not affected.
I've decided the path of least resistance is to perform the work myself. I just bought the parts for $30. Shouldn't be a bid deal, now I can feel more comfortable that I will not have a fire.

Tranny coolers were an option on the 92, standard on 93-96 SSE/SSEi. I can confirm that.
Fuddy, ALL 93'* should be affected. The swap took me about 30-45 minutes after my fire last year. Another hour or two to clean up.
