Hey there everyone, took the bonneville into our local transmission shop today and they did diagnostics on it, if youv'e read some of my posts you might have read me talking about our 2000 SSEi upshifting hard and whining while harshly upshifting. Well after they did the diagnostics it turns out as i thought the Pressure Control Solenoid is going bad as well as a bunch of pressure and other related items, oh and dont forget to add in that the drivers wheel bearing and the Wheel speed sensors are bad (something about the rivet on them are getting loose?!) We had our 2000 2.2L S10 in there shop last summer and they do great work and have always been good about service. They quoted us for $1200 that doesnt include the Wheel speed sensors or the Wheel Bearings, which he said wont be much. Let me know what you all think, is this price quote too much, etc, etc. Thanks!

This is our 3rd tranny in the family fleet (3 diff vehicles) that has had to have major service, we take excellent care and maintain our vehicles well. We are not hard on them either, well I've burned out twice in the bonneville, , but two burnouts to ruin a tranny. Why is it that my cousins 2000 Dodge Dakota thats been beat to **** literaly, and it still shifts like a dream. It really gets me.

Honestly, Ive never had a "Reliable" auto tranny... Although.. I had a taurus with 300k on the original AXOD, and thats a feat in itself lol...

my 90 bonne just went out all of a sudden while driving down the road at 182000 miles and paid 800 to rebuild it and have new front axles put in. On my 94SSE i had it for 2 years and never had a trans problem out of it, and it was sold at 189000 and now i have the 99 GTP which was having a hard shift from 2-3rd until i added this anti slip stuff and now it is fine! Havent had a problem since. It is funny though that GM says that our trannies are the most reliable and heavy duty but alot of people are having problems. hopefully i wont fall victim!!!good luck!!

Don't become a Dodge faithful!!! If you do, you'll be sorely disappointed with their fullsize car tranny (42LE) found in the LH cars (Vision, Intrepid, LHS, 300M, Concorde). That tranny is the biggest POS ever concieved! Compare the 65E to the 42LE makes teh 65E shine. Also, about all of the newer chrysler trannies suck MUCH more horsepower to use them (42LE sucks about 33-35%).

I was having some shifting issues with my Bonnie, but a good cleaning of the MAF sensor cleared that right up. The problem was created by an over oiled (out of the box) K&N air filter.

The transmission died in my Bonne once, but luckily it died as a thief was stealing the car. Needless to say it stopped the thief and insurance paid for the new tranny because there was no way to know what the thief did to the car. What dumb luck eh?

We had a 1984 Plymouth Voyager and the original transmission died at 220,000miles. That was a damn good van...
