Default Transmission interchange?

2000 ssei with 4t65e-hd. What other years and cars transmissions will bolt up to my Bonne? Buicks? Grand Prix?

Will an HD trans out of a 2002 bolt in with no worries?

I'm looking at swapping the trans out in the future and wonder what will fit.

Thank you.

look at your transaxle identification tag near the outboard end of the transaxle. Look for the identification letters "XA" or "XB" I believe you need to have the same. The valve bodies changed in late 2000

SGP358 is the best person to ask about this. Billboost may also know.

You need a HD trans from an H body. W body transmissions don't have the rear bolts. and get it before 2003 thats when stuff started changing again

Yes, I agree. Except you actually should be able to use a 97-03 Regal or 97 Grand Prix transmission as well. As long as the transmission has webbing on the back for the driver'* side rear trans mount, you're set, assuming you've got other changes covered as well.

went through this on my car. i also have the CHB code on mine. there are some slight differences inside but the biggest one is that it'* the first in the 2000+ to have an internal gear selector rather than external. now from late 2000+ all HD trans'* were CHB'* but each year has a different first number. such as 2000 is 0CHB, 2001 is 1CHB and so on. never got clarification if that first # makes a diff or not.

Thanks. I think I'll try to find a CHB out of a 2000 when the time comes, keep it simple.
