Mine is heavier than most.... even more so than the autos. I have Quad buckets in it... the front are all power with all the lumbar and bolster crap. And extra 30# of sound deadening, amp, etc. I actually took it to a scale at a metal yard and it weighed 3490 with nothing in it and near no gas. I have the usual done.. intake, exhaust, UD pulley, chip and i played around with the cam timing. Before the current intake and exahust it put down 200.3 hp and 207.3 ft lbs at the wheels. The intake and exhaust made a noticable difference, so it should be sitting at about 205 and 212 now. I will he heading to to the dyno in a couple weeks to fine tune the chip. We shall see!

Why can't it? TPI is tuned port injection isn't it? I know the previous gen bonnies had 5 less HP and torque..

I have the silver 5 spd. My friend had the black auto. HO does stand for high output as far as i know. There are slight variations in intake design on the 3800s... the same engne seems to be rated differently in different platforms.

I think the bonnies have more torque then say a GP??? I don't know about the newer ones, that gen III is kinda sweet too, did they fix the intake problem on that for the new ones, they had to have.... Right? 9 years of cracked intakes, there is no way they woulda let that go....

Thanks... a lot of elbow grease went into that engine! I ran a 14.6 with pretty bad wheel spin. I will be back next year with slicks! I only got 3 runs in, so i wasnt around a whole lot at the track.

Yeah i have 3.06 in mine, but bonnies aren't as heavy as everyone thinks they are. Although this kid i work with, his dad just got a GTi and he wants to race me in it, i know he'll beat me, and i've admitted it, (it'* a stick and the newest one witha VR6) but the damn kid doesnt shut up, he loves VWs....
