Ryan has known for a while that the Trans was on the way out.. I did get a chance to drive it when I was in CT... The trans didn't slip at all when you got on it, and it shifted pretty good..
The Good thing for Ryan tho is that he does have another car to drive, so he'll be good to park the SE and drive the SSEi for a little while while he gets everything together for the Tranny swap..
Ryan if you end up doing the swap on your own, we can Guide you...

Yea i meant Salt not sale
But yea, its dead. last night i had to move it out of the garage so i can work on another friends car and it did not want to go into gear at all, took me 5 min of playing with it to get it to move 20 feet.
Im not going to take it off insurance for 3 or 4 weeks. My insurance is so cheap it would cost me move to go get the plates again from the DMV i only pay $350 for both the SSEi & SE for 6 months 
The Really bad part is here that its getting REALLY COLD now and its going to suck to have put the snow tire/wheels on the Ei... but o well... Tiz life

Bandit, not sure about your location, but dropping insurance here doesn't affect registration or plates as long as the car isn't parked on the street.
You can put that car into suspension for probably 5-10 bucks a month, and it'll cost you nothing to put back on the active insurance later.
I pay a lower rate on the Zilla anyway, as it'* listed as a 'project' car with less than 2500 miles driven per year.

Sorry to hear about your tranny, man. It seems that on modern cars, the automatic transmission is almost always the weakest link. Good luck on the swap!

Storage insurance for me though is only like $120/6 months.
And if you are a gambler, the yard by me you could get out of with a trans for $100 with 30 day.
oh, and wilberts has a 1 yr 12k mile warrenty on most motors/ trannys

The Lucas or SeaFoam stuff probably won't help with your situation...seems like its a bit more serious, but I used both of these products. They are fundamentally different from each other - the Lucas stuff is EXTREMELY thick, and the SeaFoam TransTune is as thin as water.
My particular problem was my transmission was whining under load...not very bad, but it was doing it a little bit. So I put the Lucas stuff in first and it seemed to help it, and then it started whining VERY badly and very loudly. Many people, including a mechanic, told me it sounded like the pump was starved for fluid. I thought I was going to have to replace my tranny, and a last ditch effort was to try a can of SeaFoam TransTune. I poured it into my tranny and INSTANTLY the whining disappeared 100%. It hasn't been back in over 2 months and the transmission is fine.
I think maybe the Lucas stuff made the tranny fluid too thick to run efficiently through the pump, and the TransTune thinned it out...but I have no real way of knowing that. Either way I'm 100% sold on SeaFoam TransTune.
