F17 = 2.84

that explains why my car is a little slugish off the line... but gets 32MPG on the highway

Captain... For a 96 to have the 2.93 trans is odd..

Do you have M13 or MN7 ?

Also does the Vin on the RPO code list match up with the Vin of the car?
I just checked. The VIN on the RPO matches the one under the windshield, and I have:

M13 - trans, 4T60-E F31
FR2 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.93
