Anyway...yeah the T5 is a good transmission. It'* safe to say that the majority of people on the mustang forums are completely idiots. They always bitch about how the T5 is a piece of junk because it 'only' held up for 130k of having the **** beaten out of it. Chevy used the T5 in the 305 'maros too (so stfu pat ).

I'd sugest a S2 L67. You won't get the same performance out of a S1 L67 as a 5.0L 5 speed Mustang. But a S2 L67 will exceed a 5.0L Mustang. Stock for stock. I'm sure you can find a 96-97 SSEi for under 4K somewhere. The U.*. ain't that big. Traveling cross country should not be a problem. Heck, i'm poor and do it just for kicks and it costs less than $200.
