The fuse that is pulled in the GTP is the Anti-Lock/TCS fuse, it runs the Anti-Lock Brakes and the Traction Control System. Since the traction control system has absolutely no power at all it can't do even the things it does when it is off. The ABS and TCS just happen to be in the same fuse. If they weren't in the same fuse we would leave the fuse out on the street.

That is what I felt that time I did the burn out then tried an acceleration run at the same time. The timing retard was so noticeable that it felt like the boost was decreased as soon as the speed started to pick up......and I thought it was the boost control solenoid.

Leave that traction control off....I know a kid that has a prelude that i race all the time and i forgot to turn it off one night and he beat me. But if i turn it off i win pretty easily. Im told that tire spin off the line actually helps more than it hurts. When your tires actually catch they are going that much faster.

Yes, but the car isn't going that fast, so the weight of the car basically slows the tire back down. You will get higher trap speeds and higher ET's if you spin. No spin is ideal for the best ET.

I too leave traction control off when draggin.. and I will agree and have noticed that when you can a lil wheel spin you hear the traction control work in my car ( a loud whirr like the tranny is grinding or something and it lasts for quite some time even after you regain traction ).. so off it is.. and you just need to practice on launchin to minimize wheel spin.. took me a lil while after gettin my Bonnie to practice and get use to it compared to my old car with not so much balls. Basically I step on the gas in a linear gradual motion and will hit WOT roughly around 1.5 seconds to 2 seconds after initial launch ( pending on road conditions.. sometimes its more ).. practice practice practice..

Normal driving it's on as I'm too lazy to shut it off everytime I start the car..

I noticed on some other cars ( like bimmers for one ).. traction control also helps in controllin the car from sliding sideways in bad weather through some intricate brakin system.. and have seen on sunflowers and Grand Ma's ( Grand AM's ) that they would have a lil light up on the dash that tells you when you're loosin traction and possibly going into a spin.. My bonnie don't have that.. but does our traction control help prevent it when it's on? or is it purely for straight forward traction only?

ok with the traction control on the motor shutters to limit tire spin with it off it doesnt but you have tire spin i dont know all the details but look it up (something to do with the ecm and fuel injectors)

Wrong. Traction control uses applied braking using the PMV and EBCM. Inputs come from the front wheel speed sensors.

There is no engine or PCM involvement in our Traction Control.

I am assuming you are talking about the Series I right? Because I know for a fact that the Series II traction control pulls timing advance.

I should have clarified. bboonneevviillee or mark_m, whoever you choose to listen to, has an L27, and therefore Series1. The PCM in a Series1 doesn't know the Traction even exists.
