since I've had my Bonni, 2000 SSEI it'* been able to do 136 then the limiter would kick in. Lastnight, the limiter kicked in at 117, 122, 127, it wouldn't get up to 136 and I don't know why. My abs lights are on, trac. control and have been since March I haven't taken the time to get this checked out due to money situations anybody know or might know why I couldn't get my usual top speed out of it. I haven't been over 110 in a while untill last night and it really dissapointed me.
I thought the 00+ SSEi were limited to 128. When I had mine that is where the limitor kicked in at. I just tried for a top speed run in the GXP Thursday morning and got it to 135 before I ran out of room. It'* nice being on the highway at 5 in the morning when nobody else is out yet.
You may also be hitting your REV limiter, depending on whether or not you back out to let it shift at the top end, then ease back into it.
When I'm after a speed run (way out in the Eastern Oregon desert), I back out of the throttle at the top of 3rd gear, because if I hold it at WOT, it won't shift to let me go further. The most I've done in 3rd gear at WOT is 137, unless I back out, let it shift, then roll into it mildly enough to accellerate without it wanting to downshift.
Keep in mind my gear ratio is SLIGHTLY different than yours, and my programming is much different. Not to mention that I'm running an aftermarket PCM that bumps my top limiter to 199 mph.

cool cool. I had been asking around about shift kits and people to put it in for me since I don't know anything about transmitions, 2 people told me that the whole transmition has to come out to do it. What do ya know about that?
On both of my 4T60'*, the trans has to come out for valvebody modification. On your 4T65E, you only have to drop the pan for the install. Should take you about 2 hours for a first-timer.
You'll find the shift kit you need at www.intense-racing.com but it won't do anything for your top speed.
HOWEVER, you can find a performance PCM on that site as well, and that WILL take care of the top speed limiter if that'* what you're after.

A 97+ will not need to let off the throttle to shift. This would be true for a vacuum modulated transmission though.
Shifting is compeletly programmed. The tables will either shift via rpm or speed, whichever is met first from either of the tables.
