Tires
My SSEi is due for tires. Does anyone have any suggestions for good replacements. I've checked some of the local retailers for the original equipment Goodyear RSA'* and in my opinion the prices are rediculous. $1000 for 4 mounted and balanced. My SSEi is a daily driver with 120K miles and to be honest, I don't really care if it has the original equipment high performance rubber on it anymore. I need a good tire, but not necessarily the best. Last time I bought RSA'* for a different car, they were not nearly as costly. Maybe I just need a reality check again.
I just put two Michelin Symmetry tires on the front... noticed an immediate different in handling over the crappy Firestones that were on there. I was looking for something cheap... Michelin Energy MXV4 would have probably been my first choice.
for the price, my current tires, pirelli p-zeros are pretty good dry/wet weather. they are decent in snow, too.
Ive had kuhmo ecstas on my firebird, those also were good "cheapish" all weather tires.
for more money, the BFG KDW tires i had on my fireturd were awesome dry tires(even at the track :burnout: )and pretty good in the rain. they were softer rubber, though. warmed up quick, didnt last as long as the others i had.

I bought a set of the Cooper Zeon'*. There were the only thing I could get overnighted when I blew a rear tire. Bought two and put them up front to try. I hated them at first. They spun real easy and squealed at first. After about 1000 miles it seems whatever coating they had on them wore off and I love them now. I would definetly recommend them. I think I paid about $300 for two and that included overnight and install from a local performance shop.
My 2000 SSEi came with Goodyear RSA'*-junk!
I then went to Dunlaps and got much better handling, but only got 20,000 miles.
I now have Perilli P Zero Nero'*, and they are fan f--- ing tastic. Unbelievable cornering, and great in the wet too. These are W rated MS threads and they don't cost a fortune. You'll love 'em!
