Just 2 weeks ago I bought 4 Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread tires for $119 a peice(109 a peice + *&H off tire rack). & I love them, I know Goodyear has them in 17" sizes too now.

I think I've heard that a lot of Kumho tires have great ratings and really low prices. Take this one for example:

The ratings are awesome, and the price is right. Look at other Kumhos in your size at Tire Rack as well. Find the ones you want, then get 'em somewhere locally. If you have a Discount Tire nearby, I know they can get Kumhos.

EDIT: Just so you know, unless I hear something really bad about these tires, a set of Kumhos will be the next rubber on my car.

Simply the best all season performance tire for under $150
As good as the Pirellii P-Zero Nero on dry pavement, far better in wet or snow.
They also wear well. I had a pair on my SSEi, they outlasted it, and then got transferred to the Ultra. I think I put about 50k HARD miles on them, including many trips to the track, and they still had usable tread when I gave them up for 18" wheels..
It'* as good as most summer performance tires for less money. The only reason I didn't get another set is that they don't make them in the right size for my current wheels.

alot of us with the 17" wheels move up to 255/50-17 tires.
i had 65k on my Michelins (235/55HR17) darn good tire , just wanted a wider tire and the BFG'* G-Force T/A KDWS only set me back $132.00 a tire. the BFG'* have the same treadwear rating (400) as the Michelin'* so i hope to get about the same mileage. the 255/50-17 tire has the same diam. as the stock tires just a little wider. the car looks good with the wider tires, GM should have offered the 255'* as a option. did i say the car looks GOOD.

at $102 a tire and an 420 treadwear rating it should last well over 50,000 miles.

I'm pretty sure I'll end up going with the Pirelli P-zero Nero M+*'* Check out these reviews, alot of people with bonnies reviewed these things to be WAY better than the stock Goodyears and the best part is that they are $50 cheaper than the stockers brand new

are there performance gains to having 255/50/17'* ?? Tire rack only has two all season tires. BFG KDWS and Kumho Ecsta ASX not a huge selection.

YES , with the 255'* the car handles so mush better than with the 235'*.
60' times are less if you drag race with your street tires.
you do lose some gas mileage , mine went from 28.4mpg
down to 27.7mpg avg. on a flat road ( 400+miles Sacramento to Tulare and back)
i would never go back to the 235'* repeat NEVER.

Front engine mount that is solid, not resilient. Do a search for solid mounts in the 00+ forum.
