Not from what I've read. I read that part of the problem was the Ford had put the suggested tire pressure too low to prevent roll overs, which resulted in underinflated tires.

Don't ask me, I'm not intimate with the situation. All I know is that I've read numerous times that Firestone has said their tires were not faulty, and that they blame Ford that the Explorer itself is the problem, along with underinflation of the tires.

I tend to think they are both at fault, but that wasn't my point. I'm just saying that the sticker may not necessarily be right. I've read of many people running their tires higher than the sticker with no troubles, and increase mileage.

Well, you can go a few psi over (cold) the recommended inflation pressure on driver door. Remember inflation pressure increases 4-5 psi when tires heat up.
