Anyone heard of Nokian Tyre? Apparantly from Findland recently introduced in the US a few years ago. My local tire shop who I trust is highly recommending them as an all weather tire. Most of the reviews i've read say they are a great snow tire and an average summer tire.
I'm debating on a set of good snow tires and some great directional summer tires or a decent set of all weathers. I just can't seem to find a tire that will do well in the winter and hold all the power in the summer.
And of course i'm looking for the most cost effective solution (need money for more mods
).
I'm dreading the coming winter with these POS RSA'* and 450 ft/lb of torque :(

You definitely need something better than the RSA'*.
Go with any kind of winter tire definitely and keep it out of the ditch.

They introduced Mtn Bike tires about 5 years ago in the US. One of the best downhill tires used, and used by many!
I think you'd be happy to use them, but again, $800 is a lot. A nice Pilot Sport A/* would be cheaper then that. And be a great all season tire.
Suggestion #2 QTP'* all year 'round.

I bought the Nokian Hakapplelttas for my Alero..AMAZING snow traction really an excellent investment, also they handle great at speeds above 70, which is rare some winter tires are terrible on the pavement.
Id reccomend them any day!

800.00? For that price I'd stick with a decent all season with good snow/wet traction.
The cost of the nokians though (800.00USD) make me think about buying a cheap winter beater though
$200 per tire is cheap in my books.
My new boots cost me $1300. but they are not winter tires.
BTW...Nokian is from that famous company you know that sells cellphones
And yes I've heard very good reviews on them but would suggest a couple of alternatives;
Blizzak WS50 in 225/60/16 with steel rims is $584 from Tirerack.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

My personal choice;
Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice in 225/60/16 is $356 for 4 from Tirerack
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

All the Police forces in my area use the Ultra Grip Ice tires.
Cheers,
