Default Thrasher CAI FYI

I just thought I'd clear up some confusion about the CAI by Thasher offered on the Grandprixstore site. Everyone says it won't work with the bonneville. Here'* the scoop. You can visit http://www.3800performance.com and look at the what they offer. Most of it is intended for the Grand Prix. However, I e-mailed them and asked about the packages (Stage 1 and Stage 2) and whether they would work on our Bonnevilles. Here'* the scoop:

The gatorbelt won't work 'cuz our'* on our Bonneville'* is longer than on the Grand Prix'*. Exhaust will have to be custom done since there are no cat backs available for direct bolt-on yet. As far as the CAI goes, I was told that you'd have to cut the air box with a hacksaw about an 1" and then it will fit. They've told me that they have 10-12 people currently running the Thrasher CAI with their bonnies.

With all of that said, those of us with I believe '96 and newer (ma be wrong on the start year) bonnies have both the engine and same tranny as the GTPs that most of this stuff is made for. Therefore, you can use the same Thrasher Shift Kit and other mods for the GTPs. Hope some of this helps.
