4500k is the most visible usable light, natural daylight color..... 6000K is a much whiter look though, and you aren't sacrificing much in the way of usable light.

Though, HIDs in stock housings are fail.

That refers to the color temperature of the light emitted. As you climb the spectrum you get bluer, and as you drop in the spectrum you get more yellow. 2700K-3200K is yellow, most cars come with 4300K stock, which is fairly close to natural daylight color. 6000K is about the whitest you can go while still having a usable amount of light. Above that it is just blue and purple.

Actually above 8000K is where you start losing usable light. 8000K has a light blue tint and is still brighter and better than stock. And yes stock housings are fail. Raptor you may want to consider doing a retrofit so you don't blind everyone else on the road.

A conversion kit (and more specifically HID conversion kit) contains everything needed to have HIDs in place of your stock halogens.

Oh, I got it. So you can't just go and plug an HID light into a halogen socket. So, how do I pick a conversion kit? Where do I buy them?
