Default Is there any way to change the ECC?

I want the 94-99. I don't like the way the 97-93'* are. Wtht the 94-99, you can switch the vent modes much better than the one I have. When I had the 97, I can change the thing to vent, vent/floor, defrost.floor, defrost, defog. This one I have now, you only have the option for defost and floor. Unless you drop the temp to abput60* then you can use other positions. Thats not rightt. I was awondering if i can switch the units.

I believe all ECC units used the same connector. I don't see why they wouldn't be interchangeable.

Its a difference in the way the 87-83 ECC works and the 94-99'*. Its easy and hard to explain. I tried to do that and its confusing.

This is a really good topic 'cause I'd like to do the same. I can almost guarnetee that it will not be plug and play but I can do some research. My guess is that you would need at least the ECC head and the HVAC programmer. If anyone has a diagram of the climate control having the mode button, I'd like to take a look at it.

92-93 are their own ECC'*, 94-95 are also their own setups, as in they aren't interchangable......To my knowledge and according to my computer system at work....I think that 96-99 are interchangable too only with each other.....Not sure on those.

That'* correct. There are alot of differences in the 92/93 ECC and 94/95. This may also include HVAC controller work. Plan on pulling the entire interior front half of the car, and tearing into everything.

WOOHOO!! I was right about something!

If you were to change these out, wouldn't you have to change just the programmer with it, or would there be more?
