take fwi off for winter?

im going to college sunday, and i wont be driving my car until probably december.

should i take my FWI off for the winter? it will see some time on the road when i go on breaks and return home.

id rather nobody drive it in a northeast winter lol

but im gonna have to, so thats why im askin about the FWI

im worried about watter gettin into the engine when driving.

i dont have anythign covering the bottom of the filter

Water in the engine is a good thing. Ever hear of water injection?

If you sucked up a puddle, the engine would stall from lack of air before the water ever entered the engine.

it gets dirty. after one rainstorm my k&n went brown from hitting all the muddy puddles around here. In the event I had it on my 98 I would have taken it off for the winter (dont want salt and crap in there) but I put it on my 01. The 00+ have a much more isolated fendwell.

Some run them in the winter, some dont, its a matter of personal preference.
